The October Day of Fate is Coming!

The third Sunday of the month is coming up soon, which means the Day of Fate is soon upon us!  Come join us at Dragon Snack Games in Amherst on Sunday, October 16 starting at noon.  All are welcome, no experience with Fate is needed.  We hope to see you there.

September Bits and Pieces

Greetings all!
I have a few things that I’d like to get through for September, so I’ll try and keep them brief.
First, Queen City Conquest is this coming weekend!  In addition to a ton of other cool things, there will be several Fate games that still have slots available.  I’ll be running Blue Collar Necromancy on Friday night, Masters of Umdaar on Saturday morning, and It’s Not My Fault! on Sunday afternoon.  Also, the amazing people from Encoded Designs will be running Part-Time Gods of Fate on Friday evening and Red Water Blues on Saturday night.  Even if you aren’t playing, come say hi!  I’ll be the guy wearing a blue Fate Corps shirt of some sort.  You can find more info about QCC at
If you’re having the post-con blues or can’t make it this weekend, we may be able to help you get a good dose of geekery at the next Day of Fate.  We’ll be at Dragon Snack Games the following Sunday, 9/18, starting at noon.
Finally, the good people at Evil Hat were kind enough to feature us on their website.  Check it out!
Thanks to all of you for your continued support and interest in the Fate RPG.  I hope to see you soon!

Deadline to register for QCC is nigh!

I just wanted to post a quick note for those of you that are interested in going to Queen City Conquest this year.  In case you haven’t heard, the deadline to register online is this coming Friday,  8/26.  You save $5 by doing so, and it’s the best way to guarantee that you get in to the games that you want.

QCC is a great con and I hope to see you folks there.

As a final note, I’d like to offer a big thanks to Ken for leading the August Day of Fate for me.  Unfortunately, I was unable to make it, but he was kind enough to take over for me.  It was a pixel blasting fun session of Save Game, adding another to our diverse list of settings run at BFC events.

Thanks for your interest in the Buffalo Fate RPG community.  Happy gaming!

What is this “Fate” that you speak of?

In case you were wondering what kind of games we run at Day of Fate events, we mix it up!  We like to show all of the genres and tricks that the game is capable of, including roleplaying staples such as fantasy, some that are humorous, some that are grim, and some of the more unique settings as well.

Since we started last fall,  we’ve run games in the following published settings:

  • Masters of Umdaar (science fantasy)
  • Venture City (near future “superpunk”)
  • Evil Hat’s “It’s Not My Fault!” (fantasy)

Many of our GMs have been kind enough to present their own games as well:

  • Adam Ezra’s Mo(u)rning Orchid and Interstellar Patrol  (sci fi/space opera)
  • Phil Vecchione’s Fate 101 (an introduction to playing the Fate RPG)
  • Rich Hewett’s Kaernest (fantasy)
  • Kenneth Benner’s It’s Not My Fault: Venture Brothers (based on the Venture Brothers animated series)

Finally, we’ve been fortunate enough to have Phil Vecchione run early versions of Hydro Hackers, a cyberpunk setting coming soon by Encoded Designs

I’d like to thank Phil, Adam, Rich, and Ken for being kind enough to run games for us.

Would you like to see a different setting?  More of what is mentioned above?  Let us know!

August Day of Fate

The third Sunday of the month is coming up, which means that the Day of Fate is as well!  We’ll be at Dragon Snack Games on 8/21 from noon to 4.  Come in, cool off, and play some games with us.  All are welcome and no experience with Fate is needed.

While the Day of Fate is a completely free event, please consider supporting our host at Dragon Snack Games.  Any in store purchase on the day of the event will earn you a shiny blue Fate point for use at any Buffalo Fate Corps game.

One last note.  If you’d like to GM, please let me know ASAP and I’ll add you to the roster.  If you have any questions or if there’s anything you need to GM, I’ll do what I can to help you out.

As always, thanks for your support and continued interest in the western NY Fate community.  We hope to see you soon!

July Day of Fate

Greetings everyone!
Welcome to summer, July 2016!  In between picnics, watching summer blockbusters, and catching virtual monsters, I hope that you’ve all been able to get some tabletop gaming in.
The third Sunday of the month is coming up, and you’ll have a chance to play some more games next weekend, at our July Day of Fate.  We’ll be at our usual location at Dragon Snack Games starting at noon on July 17th.  Whether you’re new to the Fate RPG or an experienced player, come on out!  All are welcome.
I’d also like to take a moment to congratulate our friends in WNY Savages. It’s their first “Savage-versary”, marking one year running Savage Worlds monthly at Dragon Snack Games.  If you’d like to join them on July 31st, they’ll be going from 1 to 9.
Thanks for your continued interest in the local Fate fan community.  I hope to see you on the 17th.

June Day of Fate

Greetings everyone!
It appears as though summer has come a tad early in Buffalo this year.  I hope that you’re all enjoying the warmer weather and, failing that, that you have a cool place to spend time in.  I also hope that you have some good games to play, indoor or out.
And speaking of games… the June Day of Fate will be in less than two weeks!  We’ll be at our usual haunt, Dragon Snack Games, on Sunday, June 19th at noon.  The Venture City campaign will be on hiatus this month due to the holiday, but rest assured, there will be Fate to play!
I have a humble request of you all.  If any of you are willing and able to GM this month, please contact me as soon as possible.  There’s a GM shortage this month due to Father’s Day, and I would be extremely grateful for the help.  If there’s any questions or anything you need to GM, please let me know, and I’ll try to accommodate you as best I can.
Thanks for your continued interest in the local Fate fan community.  I hope to see you on the 19th.
